Louise Bailey, one of Child Rescue Nepal’s 2018 London Marathon runners, recently raised over £400 towards her £2,000 fundraising goal by hosting a Bring & Buy sale with her family.
Louise spoke to us about her motivations for taking on the marathon and running for Child Rescue Nepal:
“‘I’m really excited to be running the London Marathon, especially for such a great cause. Last year I successfully completed a difficult trek to Everest Base Camp and on my return was looking for a new challenge which the London Marathon most definitely is! Having visited Nepal and experienced first hand its beauty and the hospitality of it people, running for Child Rescue Nepal seemed an obvious choice. Having also seen the poverty there and the devastation caused by the 2015 earthquake I know how vital their work is.
The wintery weather and an ankle injury have both hindered my training but I’m getting back on track now and am confident that I will complete the challenge. I am also determined to enjoy the day as I don’t plan to do it again! My family and friends have been fantastic, really supporting my fundraising which has of course been a huge help.”
With less than 6 weeks to go to the marathon, we here at CRN wish Louise all the best in her training!
